It looks just the right size for your wrist. You could slip it right on if you want. But you know enough about fantasy to realize there are risks to this kind of thing. You're clearly in a magical situation here, but things seem relatively safe so far. For all you know the bracelet could be cursed, and you'd be jeopardizing yourself needlessly. It could destroy your arm with irreversible decay, it could allow an ancient malevolent spirit to control your body, it might thrust you into a destiny you are ill prepared for.
Or it could be good magic! It might secretly give you transformation powers with the assistance of a cute magical fairy creature, it might allow you to drain dangerous foes of their strength, it could give you the power to cast amazing and devastating spells.
There's really no way of knowing beforehand- unless someone shows up soon to drop some exposition on you.
And there's always the chance it's an ordinary bracelet with no special powers. But c'mon, how boring would that be?
You touch it gently and carefully, hoping something cool will happen. There are several gemstones along the side, all colorful, but you don't know enough to identify them. If this were a video game you would go with the obvious guesses- green is emerald, red is ruby, and blue is sapphire, but in real life gemstones are much more complex than that. And for all you know these are magical gems outside the realm of ordinary knowledge.

You pick it up and roll it around in your hand, it's cool to the touch. And you feel a temptation coming over you. You really want to see what, if anything, it can do.
"It's completely safe, you can try it on if you like. It even comes right off, no magical curse forever binding it to you." The person speaking looks like a wizard, with flaming blue hair and flowing blue robes. They've even got a magic wand in their hand! Oh wait- it's a plastic pinwheel, never mind. "It's a magical bracelet known to many as the Akashic Horolnium. Each of the three gems has its own unique power.
"The ruby allows you to travel forward in time up to an hour. You'll behave exactly as you normally would during that time, though you won't have any memories of what happened. It's a bit risky, I do not recommend it, but I will not stop you from using it. "The sapphire can freeze and unfreeze time entirely, allowing you to spend that time as you wish. You will not age at all during this period. I once knew a man who would freeze the world over for years at a time as he worked on his personal projects. It's great for busy people. I must warn you, it is possible to use the ruby's power while the sapphire is active, you will move on to an hour after the sapphire deactivates. But you will have no idea what you've been up to during the period time was frozen, the results are quite risky. "The emerald takes you back in time, up to an hour. You will be taken back to your body, but you will have anything you had with you prior to its activation. Due to a failsafe, the Horolnium will erase itself from other locations when you use this power, so it cannot be duplicated, but other objects will be fine. For example if you have a favorite pillow, you can hold it while activating the Horolnium and you'll take it with you to the past and have an extra pillow. Quite handy. You could even use it to escape this place, and return to where you came from."
Wait, where did you come from exactly? the memory is hazy.
"The emerald and ruby also combo well. If you are about to prepare dinner and that will take forty minutes, you can speed into the future, grab your food, and return to the past with your completed meal.
"I am sure a munchkin like you will find many uses for this power. It's easy to use, just press a button, and it will activate. Controlling time travel is also as easy as simply thinking about how far into the past or future you'd like to go, and its powers can be repeated infinitely. If you want to go a year into the past, it's possible. It might take some time, but it's doable."
Honestly, you have no idea if this person is trustworthy, but this is the only lead to go on. And there's no use spending the rest of your life in fear, you've got to take a leap into faith at some point. You slip on the bracelet.
"One question," you say. "What if I use the ruby to travel to the future but during that time I used the emerald to travel to the past?" "Entirely doable, but you will end up chronologically one hour into the future from the ruby's activation. It's simply possible that one of the things you did in that hour was travel into the past. Actually might make it easier to go back an entire year without having to press the emerald over and over yourself. of course, the changes you make might be unpredictable."
You fidget with the bracelet on your wrist.
